I Can Just Form An Incorporation or LLC Myself, Right?
Why do I need to pay anybody else, a lawyer or LegalZoom or somebody to do it for me?
In this audio snippet, you'll hear about:
Travis: So, I could just do all this myself, right? Why do I need to pay anybody else, a lawyer or LegalZoom or somebody else to do it for me? Jake: I think you're right. Is this is a process that people can take on themselves and do? Sure, it is. Why do people go to us and come to us and have us form their company? I think we have a lot of knowledge and we have a lot of experience doing it. So they can trust the fact that we do it correctly. Travis: Do it right the first time. Jake: And also, convenience. You know, people are busy. People have a lot of stuff to do. Who wants to spend three, four hours doing this stuff? Finding out what the Secretary of State requires, what the instructions are, where it needs to get sent, how it needs to get sent, who does the check need to be made out to. How do I create my Bylaws? How do I do my Resolutions? Researching that on the web, buying a book –– it can be a pretty involved process. Travis: That's a ton of stuff. I can speak from experience. I formed my first LLC myself, and it took me forever. I didn't know what was right and I went to the bank and they made me go back and create more documentation. I had no idea what an EIN is. With everything added up, I probably spent a good 10 to 15 hours just getting all this stuff done. When I do it through LegalZoom I'm done inside of 20 minutes. It's unbelievable.
