Hi, this is Travis Giggy with LegalSpring.com. Today I'm interviewing Jake Varghese, from LegalZoom.com, about how to form your Incorporation or LLC. You would be surprised how many questions people have about the formation process.
Jake is an attorney. He graduated from the Drake Law School, and he's been with LegalZoom for four years. He's the Vice President of Business and Immigration Services at LegalZoom.com. He and the people in his department form 6,000 entities every single month. Jake knows more about entity–formation than anybody that I know. In addition to being a standup guy, he grew up in Minnesota, he moved to Los Angeles where he was associated with LegalZoom, and he's been there ever since. Jake thanks a lot for joining me today. Jake Varghese: Thanks for having me on. I look forward to getting people more information about how to form a company. We do companies all across the country –– so it's not only in California where we form these companies, but we form them in 50 states. Travis: 6,000 a month! I just can't comprehend that number of Incorporations going through your hands. Jake: It's definitely a lot. It's definitely a lot. But we really spend a lot of time and effort learning what the states require, every single process that we need to go through. We've really got it perfected, so it's been good. Travis: So would you say that you have a fairly intimate understanding of how every state's formation process works? Jake: We do. We have to. We're dealing with people's hopes and dreams when they form a company. We take that very seriously, and we pay attention to all the small details. In order to do that, we've got to know everything that the state is going to do. Travis: Great. Well, Jake, I can't think of anybody better that I could be talking to today. How about we get started? Jake: All right!
